How to Create and Manage a Connections?

 Establishing Connections in EazyDI:

To connect source and target application connectors, users must provide connection details. Connector- specific attributes can be found in the connector guide.

Connection can be established from 3 locations in the EazyDI platform

  1. User can browse to the Connection page by clicking Connections from Nav bar. Here you can create and manage all your connections

  2. While building the pipeline , the user can add new connection in Source Configuration Page or Target Configuration Page . Here user can add new connection by clicking on Add Connection button and filling the connection details

Let's delve into the detailed features of the Connections Page and Source/Target configuration page

Connection Page:

Explore the powerful features of the Connections Page designed for effortless connection creation and management:

Create a New Connection: Effortlessly establish new connections to enhance your data integration capabilities.

  • Click the "Add Connection" button.

  • Choose the Connector Type; the necessary fields for establishing a connection with that connector will appear.

  • Enter the required fields.

  • Test and validate the connection details.

  • Finalize and create the connection.

Note: Saving a connection with incorrect details will still store the information, even if the actual connection is not successfully established.

Modify an Existing Connection: Fine-tune existing connections to meet evolving requirements and optimize performance.

  • In the Actions Column, click the three-dot [...] icon next to the connection you want to modify.

  • Three options will appear: View, Edit, Delete.

  • To modify the connection details, click "Edit." This opens the Connection pop-up screen.

  • Enter the modified fields.

  • Test and validate the connection details.

  • Save the connection.

  • Discard changes if needed by clicking the Cancel button.

Modify Connection Name: Customize connection names for clarity and organization without altering the configuration.

  • Double-click on the connection name.

  • An editable text box with the current name will be enabled.

  • Modify the name as per your requirement.

  • After entering the new name, the application validates if it is unique.

  • If the name is unique, the connection name is modified to the new name.

  • If another connection with the same name exists, the application throws a validation error and discards the new name entered.

Delete an Existing Connection: Streamline your connection portfolio by removing connections that are no longer needed.

  • In the Actions Column, click the three-dot [...] icon next to the connection you want to modify.

  • Three options will appear: View, Edit, Delete.

  • To delete the connection details, click "Delete."

  • This opens the Delete confirmation pop-up screen.

  • If the user clicks confirm, the application validates if the connection is used in a pipeline.

    • If the connection is utilized in a pipeline, an error message is shown, stating the connection cannot be deleted because it is used in a pipeline.

    • The user must delete the pipeline first and then attempt to delete the connection.

    • If the connection is not used in any pipeline, it gets deleted, and a success pop-up message is displayed.

  • Discard the action if needed by clicking the Cancel button.

View Existing Connection Details : Users can view and test the current connection details.

  • In the Actions Column, click the three-dot [...] icon next to the connection you want to view.

  • Three options will appear: View, Edit, Delete.

  • To view the connection details, click "View."

  • This opens the Connection pop-up screen with existing connection details.

  • Users can click on "Test connection" to verify if the connection is valid.

  1. Filter Connections by Type: Efficiently categorize connections based on their types for quick and precise access.

  2. Search Connections by Name: Seamlessly locate specific connections by entering their names in the search bar.

  3. Sort Connections: Arrange your connections alphabetically or by Connector Type, Created By, or Date for convenient access

  4. Pagination Feature: Tailor your view by choosing to display 10, 20, 30, 50, or 100 connections per page, ensuring a user-friendly experience.

Add Connection while constructing a pipeline

When building a pipeline, after selecting the connector as Source or Target, the user is directed to the configuration page.

  1. If the user realizes the required connection is not created, they can click the "Add Connection" button.

  2. as per the Connector Type selected ; the necessary fields for establishing a connection with that connector will appear.

  3. Enter the required fields.

  4. Test and validate the connection details.

  5. Finalize and create the connection.

  6. This allows the user to create a New connection without navigating to the connection page, ensuring a seamless pipeline building experience.
