Importing and Exporting Mappings

Overview

The Import and Export Mappings feature enables users to transfer mappings between different environments efficiently. This functionality is useful for migrating mappings across development, testing, and production environments, as well as for backup and sharing purposes. Users can import and export multiple mappings at a time, with the flexibility to modify mapping names, select target folders, change environments, and configure source/target connections.

1. Exporting Mappings

Users can export a single mapping or multiple mappings simultaneously. The exported mappings are saved in a ZIP folder, which can later be imported into another environment.

Steps to Export Mappings:

Navigate to the Manage Page

Go to the Manage page and select your folder where your mappings are located.

Select the Mappings to Export

Choose one or multiple mappings from the list.

Click on the 'Export' Button

Click the Export option.

Download the ZIP File

The selected mappings will be compressed into a ZIP folder and downloaded.

Store the ZIP File for Future Use

Save the ZIP folder securely for migration, backup, or transfer between environments.

2. Importing Mappings

Users can import multiple mappings at once by uploading a previously exported ZIP file. While importing, users can modify mapping names, select target folders, change the environment, and configure source/target connections, making it easier to adapt mappings for different setups.

Steps to Import Mappings:

Navigate to the Manage Page

Go to the Manage Page.

Click on the 'Import' Button

Locate and select the Import option.

Upload the ZIP File

Click Choose File and select the exported ZIP folder.

Modify Mapping Details

  • Change the Mapping Name (Optional): Users can rename the imported mappings.

  • Select the Target Folder: Users can choose where to import the mappings.

  • Change the Environment: Users can select a different environment while importing mappings.

Configure Source and Target Connections
Users have two options when selecting source and target connections:

  • Existing Connections: Use already configured connections in the system.

  • Imported Connections: Define new connections for the imported mappings.

    • Users can change the source and target connection names.

    • It is mandatory to provide access details (e.g., access key and other credentials).

    • If the connection name already exists, the system will give an error stating that the connection name already exists.

Validate and Confirm

  • The system validates the uploaded file.

  • Click ‘Import’ to complete the import.

Review and Finalize

  • The imported mappings will be available in your selected folder on manage page.

  • Users should review the mappings to ensure proper configuration.
